Hello,

Acidity or acid reflux is seen as a common feature in more than half of the patients approaching doctor today. Currently it is seen that stress is one of the major factors which is seen responsible for this condition.

Here are a few suggestions from yoga which can help you in acidity

  • Practice pranayama and meditation regularly. This is to be practiced froma well experienced ypga master or naturopathist.

  • Vajrassana is seen as one of the easy postures in yoga. This pose helps in increasing the digestive power and in maintaining proper functioning of the digestive system. It is also seen to strengthen spine and relieve back pain as well. Sit down on mat with leg folded behind you.Keep feet at a distance and let you butt rest on your heals.Stay erect on spine with the palms resting on thigh region.

  • Pavana mukthasana - This posture is found helpful in preventing constipation and relieving acidity. This is performed by lifting your right leg folding the knee and crossing your arms around the leg.Gently press the leg and bring it close to chest. While exhaling lift your head and touch your knee with chin. Hold the pose for 5 seconds. Now lower head and come back to normal lying position.

Hello,

Acidity is a condition where there will be epigastric pain and burning sensation which is related with gastrointestinal tract. Due to excess secretions of acids and due to improper maintenance of diet, and by consuming spicy and oily foods, there are chances of getting imbalance in acid levels and that creates acidity and if it is in hyper condition, it is called as hyperacidity.

The prime causes, as i said, long term consumption of foods which are incompatible such as oily and spicy foods and high fats may lead to acidity and symptoms would be epigastric pain and burning sensation with bloating.

There are good medicines which can be taken to control acidity such as Hyperacidity Package Medicine that contains multiple medications which helps to clear your problem.

Along with you need to follow some yogasanas such as Vajrasana, Salabhasana, Surya Namaskara, Shitali Pranayama, Jallundhar Bandha, Shavasana which are helpful, however you need to get proper training from yoga teacher if you are beginner

  • Acidity patients should practice Vajrasana form of yoga just after finishing lunch or dinner. Vajrasana is the only Asana in Yoga which can be done after eating food. It helps in digestion make digestive system stronger so prevents acidity formation.
  • Do not take water (hot / cold) just after finishing your meals, give a gap of at least 30 minutes. Drinking water just after food neutralizes the digestive fire and digestion system becomes week.
  • Do Kapalhhati pranayama daily in the morning empty stomach. This is very good for stomach disorders of any kind.
  • If person is suffering from Hyper-Acidity then Avipattikar churna should be taken whenever acidity is felt.

Yoga for acidity

  • Yoga provides permanent cure for all the ailments but patience and regular practice is required. This is because yogic activities have slow effects on the diseases and completely destroys its root. Practice kunjal for two weeks (1st week with salty water second week without salt)

  • Cleanse stomach by taking enema.

  • Take proper bath twice a day by rubbing the body with hands or towel as far as possible. Lukewarm water can be used in winters. After bath rub the body with dry towel and relax for 15 minutes.

  • Surya namaskar, Kamar Chakrasa, Pashchimottanasana, Yogamu, Ardhamatsyendrasana, Vajrasana, supta vajrasana, dhanurasana (bow pose), pawanmuktasana, sarvangasana (in this pose we lie down and raise the legs, abdomen and bottom parts up like the one in ‘inverted pose (sheershasana)’ the only difference is that the pressure is on neck and shoulder instead of the head (as is in Sheershasana).
